Street Fairs and Craft Shows on Long Island

Long Island’s beautiful main streets and parks serve as the ultimate backdrop for warm-weather street fairs and craft shows.   These temporary fairs give Long Islanders the opportunity to browse the handmade goods of a variety of skilled local artisans.  Support local craft makers by purchasing  for one-of-a-kind artwork, clothing, jewelry foods and other goods.  For most local artisans who don't maintain a shop, these events serve as the only opportunity to meet potential customers in person.

Street fairs and craft shows on Long Island are mostly held throughout the spring, summer and early fall, and often coincide with a holiday or special event.  Mixed in with the vendors and tradesmen are fun activities for the family.  These events give neighbors the opportunity to celebrate their community and support a broader section of Long Island close to home.

A Long Island street fair is bound to have a handful of face painters, craft making, carnival games, handmade toys, free giveaways, raffles, rides and entertainment.  Street fairs are great places to support local musicians.  Residents are given the opportunity to meet and speak with community leaders in a casual and fun atmosphere.
