Pedestrian Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash in Patchogue

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Patchogue early this morning.

Patchogue, NY - July 28th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Patchogue early this morning.

A male pedestrian was walking on Main Street, just east of Bay Avenue in Patchogue, at about 2:28 a.m. when he was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet, driven by Matthew Weber, 23, of East Patchogue. The pedestrian, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
 
The investigation is continuing and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
