Hempstead, NY - December 27th, 2013 - Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a Homicide that occurred on December 26, 2013 at 10:15 pm in Hempstead.
According to detectives, Hempstead Police Department officers responded for a “Shot Spotter” notification to 83 Gladys Avenue. Upon arrival they found Jose Alvarado, 22, of Hempstead lying in the driveway of that location unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by a staff physician at 10:44 pm.
