SCPD: Man Kills Girlfriend, Commits Suicide

A man milled himself and his girlfriend in North Amityville on Saturday, November 2.

North Amityville, NY - November 2, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a murder-suicide that occurred last night in North Amityville.

First Precinct police officers responded to 3 North Drive following a 911 call reporting that a man was stabbing a woman at that address. When police arrived, they discovered Virginia Vasquez, 32, and her boyfriend Stephen Guillaume, 35, dead in the doorway of their home.

Vasquez’s 14-year-old daughter was cut on the hand when she attempted to help her mother. She was taken to an area hospital where she will undergo surgery on her hand. Vasquez’s 4-year-old son, who was also in the home at the time, was unharmed.

Detectives learned that Guillaume began stabbing Vasquez after she told Guillaume that they were breaking up.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
