Dear Long Islander,

Even though we've enjoyed the first day of Spring earlier this week, Long Island has been having a bit of a cold snap as we say goodbye to winter - with it looking very possible that this weekend will again bring a dusting of snow to much of the area. Not to worry though - the weather will surely be warming up over the next few weeks as we finish out March, and soon we'll be experiencing the Spring weather everyone loves. Not sure what to do to keep entertained until then? Head over to our Things to Do Section for all sorts of great indoor and outdoor fun, and be sure to check out the Events Calendar for all the hottest happenings here on Long Island all week long. A massive storm surged flooded Liberty Island as docks and pathways were torn asunder, and the island’s utilities and power systems were destroyed as three quarters of the land became submerged. Now the National Park Service plans to have Liberty Island up and running no later than the 4th of July.
