The beautiful springtime colors have arrived on Long Island thanks to the beginning of May!  With temperatures growing warmer and flowers blooming, we can officially leave the April Showers behind us and focus on a month of terrific outdoor activities.  The highlight of the month is perhaps the countless number of Fairs and Festivals, which provide Long Islanders with a plentiful amount of family fun, shopping opportunities, and cultural festivities.

This year, Mother's Day falls on Sunday, May 13th, meaning that local mothers won't have to wait long for their dedicated day.  In addition to some family-friendly activities scheduled throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, mothers, grandmothers, and motherly figures have delicious brunches to look forward to.  Nothing says “Thanks, Mom,” quite like tasty breakfast items and unlimited mimosas!

Toward the end of the month, the United States will be commemorating the sacrifices that brave men and women have made, and continue to make, in defense of our freedoms.  Towns across Long Island will be celebrating Memorial Day with an entire extended weekend of parades and ceremonies, in addition to beloved family barbecues.

For those looking for a bit more high-octane fun, May is filled with Car and Motorcycle Shows that are essential for auto enthusiasts.  Thanks to a diverse selection of shows that focus on all eras of automobiles, there is more than a little something for everyone.

Obviously, with the amount of activities on May's schedule, there isn't a moment to spare! Check out the events below to see what springtime fun you can look forward to here on Long Island!
