"Special Statement" Light snow overnight has left a coating of new snow on some untreated roads in central and eastern Suffolk County. 1/2 to 1 inch of new snow has fallen in some areas. The highest amounts have been over the Twin Forks where locally up to 2 inches may have fallen. Update: Selden Missing Person Alert Cancelled

A Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert for a bi-polar Selden resident has been cancelled.

Update - June 17, 2014 - New York State Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert for David Scott Tweedie 6/16/14 has been cancelled.

Original Alert - Selden, NY - June 16, 2014 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Selden man who is cognitively impaired.
 
David Scott Tweedie, 40, was last seen at his apartment, located at 4 Galaxie Lane, this morning at 9 a.m. He may be driving a white 2002 Chrysler Town & Country mini-van bearing a New York vanity license plate CEDARS.  Relatives fear that he may be dangerous to himself due to his medical condition.
 
He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 250 pounds with shoulder length dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.
 
Anyone with information about his location is requested to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.
 
As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing. Chrysler Town and Country minivan with NY registration CEDARS. Please use caution.
