SCPD: Vehicle Impounded after Unlawful Fleeing, Speeding and Reckless Driving

The vehicle was speeding in excess of 110 miles per hour and weaving in and out of traffic on the Westbound Long Island Expressway near Exit 55, police say.

Suffolk County Police on Thursday, July 3 impounded a vehicle in Brentwood after the driver fled from police who were initiating a traffic stop for speeding and driving recklessly last week in Hauppauge.

Members of the Street Takeover Task Force attempted to pull over a 2010 Infiniti G37 that was speeding in excess of 110 miles per hour and weaving in and out of traffic on the Westbound Long Island Expressway near Exit 55 on June 26 at approximately 10 p.m. The driver fled, taking Exit 53 southbound.

The Street Takeover Task Force located the vehicle on Blue Jay Drive last night at approximately 11:50 p.m. The vehicle was impounded as evidence.
