The Covid-18 outbreak has been hard both on the frontline and essential workers who tend to the sick and make sure we can still get the goods and services we need to live. They put themselves at risk every day, and it’s not easy. We are social creatures so it’s also not easy being quarantined day in and day out trying to do our jobs from home if we can, or worse, unable to work at all, putting financial stress on top of our collective anxiety over this pandemic.
Fortunately, Long Islanders are resilient and we come together when faced with a challenge. Lifting spirits and spreading hope is only one small way we can help. Below we present stories of Long Islanders who are out there helping to make sure we don’t lose faith and shine a little light for others. They are doing so through acts of kindness, organizing PPEs for frontline workers, and by creating art that helps spread messages of hope.
