The Public Information Office reports the details of an incident that occurred on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11:15 a.m. in Wantagh.
 
According to Police, Marine Bureau Officers responded to the Meadowbrook Bridge for a 34-year-old male needing medical assistance. While working under water on the bridge he suffered from a severe laceration to his hand. Upon arrival, Marine Bureau Officers applied a tourniquet and transported the male to the Jones Beach Coast Guard Station. The victim was treated by responding Nassau County Police Medics and was airlifted to a local area hospital for further treatment and
evaluation.
