Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad arrived and recovered four (4) assault rifles, ammunition and black powder.

New Hyde Park, NY - October 5, 2016 - The Asset Forfeiture and Intelligence Unit is investigating an incident that occurred on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in New Hyde Park.

According to Detectives, Nassau County Police received a call for suspicious items at 152 North 6th Street. The landlord, who does not reside at the house, was notified by his tenant, Chandrakant Dhanak that he was out of the country and would not be returning to the United States. The landlord then went to the home to clean up, observed suspicious items and called police. Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad arrived and recovered four (4) assault rifles, ammunition and black powder. 

This investigation is ongoing.
