For the Coastal Flood Statement, late tonight. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding.

Williston Park, NY - July 24th, 2014 - The Arson Bomb Squad is investigating a Fire that occurred in Williston Park on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2:40 am.

According to detectives, Third Precinct Police Officers responded to a working fire at multiple strip stores located at 615, 617, 619, 621, and 623 (business/apartment) Willis Avenue. The fire caused extensive damage to the stores and a partial roof collapse to four stores. An adjoining apartment at one store was evacuated. East Williston, Albertson, Mineola, Roslyn, Garden City Park, Westbury, Carle Place, Manhasset, Lakeville, Roslyn, and Port Washington Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire. There were 15 fire apparatus and 100 fire personnel at scene. A Nassau County Fire Marshall was also at scene. There were no injuries reported. The fire is deemed not suspicious at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
