Jamaica Man Arrested After Caught with Weapons, Drugs During Traffic Stop, Cops Say

NCPD reports the Arrest of Wayne Anderson of Jamaica, 45, for Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.

Roslyn Heights, NY - October 1, 2018 - The Nassau County Police Department reports the Arrest of a Jamaica, NY man for Possession of a Dangerous Weapon that occurred on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:15 p.m. in Roslyn Heights.
 
According to police, a VTL stop was conducted on the corner of Warner Ave. and Expressway Plaza. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed a brown wooden handle with black tape sticking out from under the front of the driver’s seat. The defendant, Wayne Anderson, 45, stated the item was a machete that he used for protection. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident. Further search of the vehicle recovered a black handled knife and several plastic bags and glass jars containing marijuana.
 
Wayne Anderson is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Marijuana 5th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Multiple VTL violations. He was released on an appearance ticket.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
