E-Bike Rider Critically Injured in Bay Shore Crash

An E-bike rider was critically injured in a Bay Shore crash involving an SUV, Suffolk Police say.

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured an E-bike rider in Bay Shore last night.
 
Weldon Palacios-Cabrera was driving a 2010 Toyota RAV 4 southbound on Brentwood Road, turning left onto Union Boulevard, when the vehicle struck a man riding a Toofly E-bike that was traveling northbound at approximately 11:15 p.m.
 
The E-bike rider, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition. Palacios-Cabrera, 55, of Islip, was not injured.
 
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
