Queens Woman Busted for DWI with 11 Year-Old Son in Vehicle, Cops Say

Greenvale, NY - December 26, 2017 - The Nassau County Police report the arrest of a Queens woman for Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) that occurred in Greenvale on Monday, December 25, 2017 at 1:03 am.
 
According to police, a Third Precinct police officer observed the defendant Luisa M. Santana–Justo, 29, of Woodhaven, N.Y. operate a 2015 Nissan south on Glen Cove Road in the vicinity of Back Road. She was exceeding the posted speed limit and failing to maintain her driving lane. The officer by activating his emergency lights and repeatedly working his siren was able to conduct a car stop on Glen Cove Road at Northern Boulevard 25A. 
 
An investigation revealed the defendant was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Additionally the defendant was travelling with a 30 year old female front passenger and her 11 year old son who was seated in the rear. Defendant Luisa M. Santana–Justo was placed into police custody without incident. The child was released to his mother. There were no injuries reported. Defendant Luisa M. Santana–Justo vehicle was impounded.
 
The defendant is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving While Intoxicated 1192.3, Driving While Intoxicated 1192.2, and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations. She will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday, December 25, 2017.
