The Public Information Office reports the details of an Animal Rescue that occurred on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 3:43 pm in Elmont.
According to police, officers responded to Freeman Avenue for reports of multiple kittens that were abandoned. Upon arrival, officers located a cardboard box on the sidewalk with four kittens inside. The kittens appeared to be unharmed and officers transported them to the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter.
