Three in Custody After Stealing $3,000 from Roosevelt Field Mall Restaurant, Cops Say

According to police, the suspects went behind the counter of Olivo’s Restaurant and removed the cash drawer from the cash register.

The Third Squad reports the details of a Burglary that occurred on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 7:50pm in East Garden City.
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a call from Roosevelt Field Mall security personnel located at 630 Old County Road regarding the kiosk of Olivo’s Restaurant. Mall security witnessed two unknown male suspects watch the area while a third unknown male suspect went behind the counter and removed the cash drawer from the cash register causing approximately $3000.00 US currency worth of damage. 
 
All three suspects fled the scene running on foot. Security personnel located the cash drawer and Police Officers located the suspects in the lower-level parking garage.  Subsequent to the investigation, at 8:12pm Officers placed all three suspects into custody without incident. Defendant Reyes had in his possession a forged New Jersey State license. 
 
Defendants Michael Owens, 18, of 21 Acorn Road East Rockaway and Nicholas Ficarra, 19, of 8 Hazel Place Lynbrook are each charged with Burglary 3rd Degree. Defendant Araldo G. Reyes, 20, of 26 Devine St. 1st Floor Lynbrook is charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. 
 
All three Defendants were arraigned on Monday, May 29, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
