Albany, NY - April 30th, 2014 - On Friday May 16th, walk, run, bike, kayak, carpool or take the bus to work--anything but drive solo in your gas-fueled car!

Register online and tell the NYS DEC how you'll be greening your commute. We'll keep track of everyone's totals and let you know how many vehicle miles were avoided and how many tons of greenhouse gases didn't go into the air. Last year we saved over 3,650 miles and 3,450 tons of CO2 emissions.

If you live, work, or will be in the Albany area on that day, check out the Green Your Commute webpage to see what's planned. Green Your Commute Day events and exhibits will be at Tricentennial Park on Broadway (between Steuben and Columbia streets) in downtown Albany. This year will feature:

  • A dozen cool, green cars including electric vehicles, and hybrids, even an all-electric plug in pickup truck
  • A bike mechanic to perform spot safety checks on your bike
  • Displays on carpooling, vanpooling and walking to work
  • A noon-time bike ride
  • and lots more!
