SCPD: Two People Killed in West Babylon Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed two people in West Babylon.
 
Frank Motta, 63, of Babylon was driving a 2005 Chevrolet eastbound in the westbound lanes of Route 109, near Platt Avenue, when his vehicle struck a westbound 2021 BMW X3.
 
Motta was pronounced dead at the scene. 
 
The passenger in the BMW, Fernando Goncalves, 79, of West Babylon, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.
 
The driver of the BMW, Ana-Paula Goncalves-Kalinowski, 49, of Centereach, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
