Jeanine Sammis of Hewlett, 36, an employee at KinderCare, is charged with Attempted Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, officials say.

NCPD reports the arrest of Jeanine Sammis of Hewlett, 36, on Thursday, 10/19, for allegedly slapping a one year old female child multiple times.

Manhasset, NY - October 20, 2017 - Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Hewlett woman for an incident that occurred on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 12:00 pm in Manhasset.
 
According to detectives, Jeanine Sammis, 36, while performing child care services at KinderCare, 1355 Northern Boulevard, was observed slapping a one year old female child on the back of her head on several different occasions during the month of September. Her actions were brought to the attention of the management and a subsequent investigation by detectives led to her arrest on Thursday, 10/19/2017.
 
Sammis is charged with Attempted Assault 2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was released on an Appearance Ticket and is due back in First District Court, Hempstead on Tuesday, 10/24/2017.
