Manhattan Woman Arrested for Assaulting Nassau County Police Officer

The Fourth Squad reports on the arrest of a Manhattan female for the Assault on a Police Officer that occurred on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 1:00 AM in Inwood.
 
According to Detectives, Fourth Precinct Officers were on patrol when they observed a black 2010 Honda Accord with tinted windows, no front license plate and a defective headlight traveling southbound on Sheridan Boulevard near the intersection of Bayview Avenue. 
 
Officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop in which the 36-year-old male driver refused multiple orders from Police and became physically resistant, resulting in him being placed under arrest.
 
The passenger, defendant Annessa Knight, 27 of 435 W 31st Street, approached the Officers while they were conducting their investigation and became verbally aggressive and ignored multiple orders from Officers. An Officer sustained injuries during the course of the arrest as defendant Annessa Knight was violent and combative while resisting arrest. 
 
Defendant Annessa Knight refused medical treatment at scene. The injured Officer was transported to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment. Defendant Annessa Knight was transported to the Fourth Precinct where she later requested an ambulance and was transported to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment. 
 
Defendant Annessa Knight is charged with Assault 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Contempt 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree. She will be arraigned when medically practical.
