Man Shot in Massapequa After Drug Deal Goes Bad, Police Report

NCPD reports the arrest of Tylil McTootle of Hempstead, 28, for Attempted Murder.

Massapequa, NY - February 14, 2018 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for Attempted Murder that occurred on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 4:30 pm in Massapequa.
 
According to Gang Investigations Squad detectives, the male victim, 27, arranged to purchase and undisclosed amount of marijuana from Tylil McTootle, 28. The victim placed the marijuana into the back of the defendant’s vehicle and McTootle started to drive away before completing the transaction.
 
The victim jumped into the front passenger seat while the defendant drove to the intersection of Fairfax Road and Gloucester Road. McTootle exited the vehicle and ordered the victim out. The defendant discharged a handgun multiple times and struck the victim once in the right leg. McTootle fled the scene without the victim. 
 
The victim was treated at an area hospital.
 
Defendant McTootle was placed under arrest on February 13, 2018 by Gang Investigation Squad detectives. He is charged with Murder 2nd Degree (attempt), two (2) counts of Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
