Mr. Innocent Found with Illegal Loaded Handgun in North Lawrence

Fourth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Queens man in North Lawrence that occurred on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 10:09 pm.
 
According to detectives, officers while on patrol, observed a 1998 Nissan Maxima with dark tinted windows travelling northbound in front of 25-301 Rockaway Turnpike. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.
 
Subsequent to the investigation, a consent search of the vehicle revealed that the operator, Steve Innocent, 32, of 2379 Dickens Street, Far Rockaway, was illegally in possession of a black Taurus 9-millimeter handgun, loaded with a fifteen-round magazine, containing ten 9-millimeter rounds. He was placed into custody without incident.
 
 
Defendant Innocent is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3 rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He will be arraigned on Friday, July 8, 2022 in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
