Man and Woman Placed Fake Bomb on Steps of Nassau County Legislature, Cops Say

Mineola, NY - June 15, 2018 - The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Woodbury woman and a Valley Stream man for Placing a False Bomb that occurred on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in Mineola.
 
According to detectives, during a protest in front of the County Legislature, located at 1550 Franklin Ave., approximately 120 bottles of an unknown liquid were placed in front of the main entrance. Another 125 bottles of the substance were located in a car parked nearby. Due to the unknown nature of the liquid, samples were taken for testing. The liquid was determined to be non-hazardous.
 
Defendant Suzanne Myron, 51,  and Stephen Figurasmith, 32, were both placed under arrest for the above incident. They are both charged with Placing a False Bomb 1st Degree. They will both be arraigned on Friday, June 15, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
