Cops: Centereach Woman Arrested for 2022 Hit-and-Run that Left Two Pedestrians Seriously Injured

Suffolk County Police have arrested a Centereach woman for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured two pedestrians last year.
 
Kristina Manico, 34, of 31 Baylin Ave., was arrested at the Sixth Precinct and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Physical Injury.
 
On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, Manico was driving a dark-colored sedan traveling westbound on Suffolk Avenue struck a man and woman at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and then fled the scene, at approximately 10:20 p.m.
 
The two victims, Nasheem Beck, 25, and Gina Ross, 34, both of Central Islip, were transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries.
 
Manico is scheduled to be arraigned today at Suffolk County Court in Riverhead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
