Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Huntington Station After Struck By Taxicab, SCPD Says

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Huntington Station on Sunday, July 28.
 
A 47-year-old man was walking eastbound, crossing New York Avenue between E 10th Street and E 11th Street, when he was struck by a northbound Universal taxicab, a 2008 Ford sedan, at 1:40 a.m.
 
The victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported via ambulance to Huntington Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the taxicab, Isabel Bolanos, 53, of Huntington Station, was not injured. 
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
