Mastic Beach, NY - May 11, 2018 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for killing a woman in Mastic Beach in 2011. 
 
Homicide Squad detectives arrested William Hubbard on Thursday, May 10, on County Road Route 111 in Manorville at approximately 7:30 p.m. Hubbard 48, of Medford, was charged with Murder 2nd Degree.
 
On Tuesday, May 24, 2011, Suffolk County Police were called to a home, located on Magnolia Drive, at approximately 1:20 p.m. for an unresponsive female. Shanell Malave, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. It was unclear what had caused Malave’s death. An autopsy by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner determined that Malave’s death was a homicide.
 
Hubbard will be held overnight at the Riverhead Jail, and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Supreme Court in Riverhead on May 11.
