Police: Man Took Cash Register Drawer, Booze at Gunpoint from Uniondale Liquor Store

Uniondale, NY - March 30, 2018 - The First Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for Robbery that occurred on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:55 am.
 
According to detectives, a 55 year old male employee was working in the Front Street Liquors located at 1085 Front Street in Uniondale when the defendant Shawron G. Bibbs, 38, entered. The defendant displayed a silver handgun and demanded cash from the register. Bibbs pushed the victim out of his way and took the entire cash drawer that contained an unknown amount of US currency and two bottles of liquor. He then fled out the front door and was last seen driving away in a silver Chevy north on Valcour Avenue.
 
A subsequent investigation led detectives to the Hempstead Post Office located at 200 Fulton Avenue on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Defendant Bibbs was observed inside and was placed into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported.
 
Shawron G. Bibbs was arraigned on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at First District Court in Hempstead. He is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Robbery 2nd Degree, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
