Long Island Winter Restaurant Week kicks off this weekend with 95 restaurants participating across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. All restaurants participating in the event, which runs from Sunday, January 23 to Sunday, January 30 will offer fixed price menus for lunch and/or dinner.

The lunch is two-courses for $20, while the dinner is three-courses and priced at $25, $35 or $42. According to organizers at LI Restaurant Week, the $35 dinner is the most common.

LI Winter Restaurant Week tries to help boost sales at restaurants during what is a historically slow time of the year, as well as introduce diners to new restaurants.

The organization said in a statement that before the pandemic, many participants reported midweek numbers to be up over 40 to 100% and an increase in sales and reservations up to 200% during the promotion. Total restaurant revenue was estimated to be $5,620,000 with New York State taking in an estimated $305,996 in tax dollars.
