2019 Mainstage Season:

  • World Premiere of The Prompter: May 28 - June 16 - Starring Tovah Feldshuh. The Prompter follows veteran actress Irene Young, who, after a forty-year absence, is returning to the Broadway stage. But now, she can’t do it alone; so the production hires a young actor to be her prompter. But, this isn’t her story, it’s his. Based on real events, The Prompter is a funny, heartfelt, untold, behind-the-scenes look at Broadway through the eyes of a young dreamer
  • World Premiere of Safe Space: June 25 - July 21–Safe Space is set at an elite university and explores political correctness and the reaction to triggers on campus in America today. When a star African-American professor faces accusations of racism from a student, the head of the college must intervene, setting off an explosive chain of events where each of them must navigate an ever-changing minefield of identity politics, ethics, and core beliefs.
  • My Witch: The Margaret Hamilton Stories: July 17 - July 21 - In a surprising, fun, haunting and delightful evening, Jean Tafler portrays Margaret Hamilton, whose Wicked Witch of the West has left an indelible mark on us all. If there is one movie we all share it’s The Wizard of Oz, but it is time to pay attention to the woman behind the cackle.
  • Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun: July 30- August 25 - Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun is one of the best-loved musicals of Broadway’s Golden Age. It tells the story of sharpshooter Annie Oakley, who starred in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, and her tempestuous romance with fellow sharpshooter Frank Butler.  Acclaimed director Sarna Lapine will bring a fresh, modern approach to the story, incorporating elements from Dorothy Fields’ original book to create the strongest and most revolutionary Annie Oakley you’ve ever seen.

If you want to have a really wonderful evening, then come down to the theater. This is the best community theater in the area by far, and all the performances I have seen here were outstanding. I check their calendar regularly to see what they have coming up. I don't want to miss anything!

So many wonderful nights have been spent here with my family. We all love their shows, and we find so many things to go and see each season. It has been a long time since I have found a community theater like this which I absolutely love going to. Every performance we've seen here was just brilliant. Some very talented people in this area work hard to put on these shows, and the tickets are reallya ffordable.

The season pass is a really great deal here. I saw a number of shows here before I figured out I could save money buying my tickets all at once. There are a lot of regular patrons here who come back again and again to see shows. They just do a really professional job. I haven't seen a single show here I haven't loved.

I was here for a show for the first time, and it was one of the best local shows I've seen in ages! This is a very good venue, and the performance was so good that I'm already checking to see what's coming next. I hope to make a habit out of coming here. I am so glad I have finally made this discovery!

Great community-driven theater. I've seen so many shows here over the years, and met a lot of really great people here too. I imagine that they are great to work with if you're into doing community theater.

I have seen so many great shows at Bay Street Theater and have spent more pleasant evenings here than I can remember. Next month I'm off to see A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum - my all-time favorite musical, and I am sure they will do an awesome job with it! Earlier this year I saw Grease and it was awesome!
