The holidays are officially upon us! There are a number of holiday festivities going on this weekend for people of all ages to enjoy. Don’t miss the Holiday Spectacular concert featuring the Long Island Philharmonic, the 17th Annual Dickens Festival in Port Jefferson and the Stony Brook Annual Holiday festival. The weekend is also complete with other entertainment, such as Carrie Underwood’s tour performance for her latest album ‘Blown Away,’ a karaoke fundraiser event going to benefit the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, a musical performance by the Legendary Murphys Acoustic Band at Babylon Carriage House, holiday shows and Mondo Vaude, a show complete with burlesque performers at the historic Vail-Leavitt Music Hall. FRIDAY – NOVEMBER 30, 2012

Who: Carrie Underwood: The Blown Away Tour At Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum
Info: Carrie Underwood’s singing career took off from being the winner on “American Idol.” She now commands the stage at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum with her fourth album ‘Blown Away.’ She is a top country singer and has had all her albums debut at number one on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart.
Cost: $61 to $81

Who: Karazee Karaoke Kares At Grafton Street Pub
Info: Come out for a night of singing for a cause. This fundraiser event goes to benefit the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Also, don’t forget to where purple to show your support.
Cost: Free Event With Suggested Donation of $2 For Each Song You Sing

Who: The Legendary Murphys Acoustic Band At Babylon Carriage House
Info: This three-piece acoustic Long Island band will play classic rock and more. It offers a unique arrangement on some of the greatest classic rock songs.

SATURDAY – DECEMBER 1, 2012

Who: Holiday Spectacular Featuring Long Island Philharmonic
Info: Enjoy a free holiday concert that goes to benefit Superstorm Sandy victims. The “Holiday Spectacular” is a two-hour concert with the Long Island Philharmonic. The concert is co-sponsored by Nassau County Parks and Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items that can benefit Sandy victims. Tickets may be obtained at Bethpage Federal Credit Union branch locations or the Administration Building at Eisenhower Park.
Cost: Free Event, But Tickets Required

Who: American Dance Theatre Of Long Island’s “Clara’s Dream, The Nutcracker”
Info: The magnificent performance of “Clara’s Dream, The Nutcracker” has been a sold-old show each year since 2000. The show continues to run through December 2nd.

Who: Mondo Vaude At The Historic Vail-Leavitt Music Hall
Info: The production of Mondo Vaude offers a modern twist to classic burlesque. There will be magic acts, sideshow performances, live music and seductively intoxicating and beautiful women. It is complete with genuine Coney Island burlesque performers. The show’s producers are Chris Jones and Bob Barta. No one under 17 years of age will be admitted.

Who: 17th Annual Dickens Festival In Port Jefferson
Info: This annual village celebration features costumed characters, decorated streets and shops, Victorian entertainment and food and low-cost attractions. Just to name a few activities, there are carriage and trolley rides, a model railroad exhibit, a gingerbread house contest, ice skating and a lantern-lit house tour of historic homes. The event is sponsored by the Greater Port Jefferson Northern Brookhaven Arts Council.

Who: “A Charlie Brown Christmas” Stage Production At SoLuna Studio
Info: Enjoy a stage production of the Peanut characters for “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Find out the real meaning of Christmas from this production. The show continues to run through December 23rd on weekends.

Who: Stony Brook Annual Holiday Festival
Info: It’s the 33rd Annual Holiday Festival presented by The Ward Melville Heritage Organization. Enjoy the sight of holiday windows, a promenade of decorated trees, a model train display, live music, a petting zoo, puppet shows and more. It’ll be a fun outing for the entire family!
Cost: Free Event
