Memorial Day Weekend is a time to honor the men and women who have served our country and it is one of the most popular celebration weekends of the year. It is the unofficial start to summer and many Long Islanders, along with the rest of the country enjoy celebrating all weekend long!

Lots of people love to dress the part, too! Party goers enjoy wearing clothing with red, white and blue colors to signify the American Flag. While dressed up, they honor our country’s men and women in many popular ways, including air shows, festivals, commemoration ceremonies, barbecues, parades, fireworks and more!

A large amount of Memorial Day events are family-friendly and can be enjoyed by all ages. The weekend is jam packed with a ton of great happenings and some feature firework displays that can be enjoyed by the entire family!
