Advisory...which is in effect until 6 am EST Tuesday. The High
Wind Warning has been cancelled.
* Winds...northeast 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.
* Timing...the strongest winds are expected until late tonight.
* Impacts...strong winds may blow down limbs...trees...and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Limited
visibilities will make travel very difficult.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph...
or gusts of 46 to 57 mph...are expected or occurring. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Gale Warning...
which is in effect until 6 am EST Tuesday. The Storm Warning has
* Winds and seas...northeast winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to
45 kt. Seas 3 to 6 feet.
A Gale Warning means sustained winds or frequent gusts of 34 to
47 kt are expected or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale
conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. It
is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience
seek safe Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

Freeport Man Arrested for Robbery

First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Freeport man for a Robbery that occurred on May 26, 2014 at 3:46 pm in Freeport.
Freeport, NY - May 26th, 2014 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Freeport man for a Robbery that occurred on May 26, 2014 at 3:46 pm in Freeport.
According to detectives, while sitting in front of his Graffing Place residence, the 23 year old male victim was approached by Allen Hubbard, 23, of 534 Archer Street. Hubbard, who produced a handgun, demanded the victim’s cell phone. After obtaining the phone the defendant fled the scene.
Information regarding the incident was broadcast to Freeport Police Department officers who, a short time later, located Hubbard at 111 Graffing Place where he was placed under arrest without incident.
Hubbard is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 05/27/2014.
