"Coastal Flood Advisory, Coastal Flood Statement" ...Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 9 PM Thursday to midnight EDT Thursday night... * locations...along coast of southern New Haven and northwestern Long Island. * Tidal departures...around 1 ft above astronomical tides. * Timing...brief and localized minor coastal flooding until midnight. More widespread minor flooding around the times of high tide between 9 and midnight PM Thursday night. * Impacts...minor flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and/or properties due to height of storm tide or wave splashover. Majority of roads remain passable with only isolated closures. There is no significant threat to life and any impact on property is minimal. This type of event is covered by a coastal Flood Advisory. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Freeport Man Arrested for Robbery

First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Freeport man for a Robbery that occurred on May 26, 2014 at 3:46 pm in Freeport.

Freeport, NY - May 26th, 2014 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Freeport man for a Robbery that occurred on May 26, 2014 at 3:46 pm in Freeport.

According to detectives, while sitting in front of his Graffing Place residence, the 23 year old male victim was approached by Allen Hubbard, 23, of 534 Archer Street. Hubbard, who produced a handgun, demanded the victim’s cell phone. After obtaining the phone the defendant fled the scene.

Information regarding the incident was broadcast to Freeport Police Department officers who, a short time later,  located Hubbard at 111 Graffing Place where he was placed under arrest without incident.

Hubbard is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 05/27/2014.
