Man Seriously Injured When Van Strikes Pole in Stony Brook

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that seriously injured a man in Stony Brook early this morning.

Stony Brook, NY - July 21st, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that seriously injured a man in Stony Brook early this morning.

Djibril Diallo was driving a 2011 Ford van northbound on North Country Road when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a pole in front of 1255 North Country Road at 5:54 a.m. Diallo’s passenger, Alvin Simms, 53, of 253-19 148th St., Rosedale, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with a serious back injury. Diallo, 57, of 1347 Chisholm St., Bronx, was also transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The van was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Sixth Squad 631-854-8652.
