The Third Squad report the arrest of a Brooklyn man for a Burglary that occurred on Monday, December 25, 2023 at 4:16 pm in North New Hyde Park.
 
According to detectives, a male subject responded to a Robby Lane residence to confront his former employer about being terminated.  The male began to yell and cursing outside the home.  The home owner’s son, 48, and grandson, 7, opened the front door to question the man’s conduct. 
 
The subject kicked the door, forcibly entered the house and began to strike the older male with a closed fist. The boy’s grandmother, 74, tried to intervene and injured her left hand.  The subject was forced out of the residence and he proceeded to kick the passenger door of a 2014 Toyota Sienna.  Officers responded and Kar Toong, 37, of 866 51st Street was arrested.
 
The male, 48, and female, 74, both suffered from pain and swelling to their hands.  An ambulance responded for evaluation and treatment.  Both victims refused further medical treatment.
             
Defendant Toong is charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  He will be arraigned on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at First District Court, Hempstead.
