Hempstead Man Arrested for Making Terrorist Threat at Macy's Department Store

The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for making a terroristic threat which occurred in East Garden City on Thursday, 01/28/16 at 5:21 P.M.

Elvis Governor, 53, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with Making a Terrorist Threat.

East Garden City, NY - January 31, 2016 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for making a terroristic threat which occurred in East Garden City on Thursday, 01/28/16 at 5:21 P.M.

According to detectives, Elvis Governor, 53, of Hempstead, while in Macy’s Department store located at 630 Old Country Rd., called 911 stating there was a bomb in the store.  Nassau County Police performed a complete search of the store yielding negative results.  The store was re-opened several hours later.

No injuries were reported.

Subsequent investigation by Major Case Bureau detectives led to the arrest of Governor on Saturday, 01/30/16 in Hempstead.  He is being charged with Making a Terroristic Threat and will be arraigned on Sunday, 01/31/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
