Suffolk County Police officers recently teamed up to help Long islanders in need by making a $4,000 donation to Island Harvest, according to a statement posted on Facebook. The post said that for every dollar donated, Island Harvest is able to produce two meals.

“The year 2020 has created hardships for people like never before, hardships that can dampen the normally joyful holiday season,” the police statement read on Facebook.

A number of fraternal police organizations contributed to the donation including, Suffolk County Police Guardians, Suffolk County Police Hispanic Society, Suffolk County Police Asian Jade Society, Suffolk County Steuben Association, Suffolk Police Columbia Association, Suffolk County Police Officer’s Emerald Society, Suffolk County Association of Women Police, and Suffolk Police Veterans Association.
