NCPD reports the arrest of Yvelise Marcellus of Hempstead, 29, for Grand Larceny.

Garden City, NY - November 23, 2018 - The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Hempstead woman for Grand Larceny that occurred in Garden City on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at 8:15 pm.
 
According to Garden City Police Detectives, between February 3, 2018 and October 19, 2018 the defendant Yvelise Marcellus, 29, was a home aide for her own company named Ray of Light Companion. Defendant Marcellus was employed and cared for a 90 year old male victim at his Seventh Street residence. The defendant during that time altered and forged at least 18 personal checks she obtained from the victim. The total loss was in excess of $174,000.00 dollars. 
 
An investigation led detectives to her residence and she was placed into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported. Garden City Police Detectives request that if anyone feels they may have been a victim that they call the Garden City Police Department at 516-742-9600. All callers will remain anonymous.
 
Defendant Yvelise is charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree, ID Theft 1st Degree, 18 counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument. She will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, November 23, 2018.
