SCPD Investigating Case of Two People Found Dead in Mastic Beach Home

Suffolk County Police Homicide detectives are investigating an incident in which two people were found dead inside their Mastic Beach home.

Mastic Beach, NY - April 30, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Homicide detectives are investigating an incident in which two people were found dead inside their Mastic Beach home.

Seventh Precinct Patrol officers responded to a 911 call at 203 Woodside Drive, after a child from the residence was locked out of the home and asked an adult for help. The adult saw a man, Wayne Street, 29, of 203 Woodside Drive, lying on the ground and called 911 at approximately 4:40 p.m. Officers found Street dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, and his wife Jenni Lee Street, 28, of the same address also dead from a gunshot wound.

Their six children were transported to a local hospital where Child Protective Services interviewed them. They were not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
