Bay Shore, NY - November 2, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a crash that injured a pedestrian in Bay Shore on Thursday, November 1.
 
Robert Whitney was driving a 2016 Mazda SUV westbound on Union Boulevard between 1st and 2nd Avenue when his vehicle struck Jorge Claros-Moisa, who was crossing Union Boulevard from the south to north side on foot at approximately 9:35 p.m.
 
Claros-Moisa, 80, of Brentwood was transported by Bay Shore Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition. Whitney, 69, of Islip remained at the scene and was not injured.
