West Babylon, NY - October 18, 2016 - Today, Tuesday, October 18th Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre (D-Babylon) will be joined by Senator of South Haiti Herve Fourcand, Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages, Presiding Officer Legislature DuWayne Gregory, Nassau County Legislator Carrie Solages, Brookhaven Councilwoman Valerie Cartwright, Haitian Americans United for Change, Inc. (H.A.U.C.), and Pastor St. Fort of New Birth Christian Church.  During this town hall meeting important discussions will take place regarding the current state of Haiti due to the damage caused by Hurricane Matthew, and elected officials as well as community members will collaborate together on the ways in which we can come together as a community in order to help Haiti.  Donations will be collected at this meeting. 

“As a Haitian-American, I am deeply saddened by the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew in Haiti,” said Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre.  “This meeting is an opportunity for members of the community to come and hear directly from the senator, the state of Haitian People and what are the current needs.  We must come together during this time of need for the great country of Haiti.”

Date: Tuesday, October 18, 2016
Time: Doors open at 5:15 p.m.  The town hall meeting will begin at 6p.m.(sharp).
Location:  New Birth Christian Church, 400 Wyandanch Avenue, West Babylon, New York, 11704

Donations may include: Toiletries, personal care items, new and gently used clothing and footwear (adults, children, infants), bed linens, first aid kits, flash lights and batteries, new and gently used sleeping bags and tents, water and non-perishable food items Monetary Donations are being collected by Haitian Americans United for Change, Inc.
