Owners Alex and Maria wanted to bring authentic Mexican food to Long Island in the 1990s. After opening award-winning restaurants The lil Caboose and Oaxaca. This restaurant in Bay Shore puts its focus on Mexico City and Oaxacan style food. Main dining room features a live greenhouse, home to over 50 varieties of herbs, peppers and edible garnishes and are all used throughout the bar and kitchen programs.The restaurant was built and designed using mostly reclaimed materials such as old bar wood, barn roofs, recycled brick and repurposed tables and chairs. Translated to “little kitchen" they say their fare is traditional Mexican food reminiscent of the street food found in markets and taquerias throughout Mexico.
