Shah’s Halal, a chain of Halal food restaurants that began as a food cart in Queens in 2005 and came to Long Island in 2016, has opened a new location in Hauppague.

The restaurant says that they specialize in quick-serve meals with 100% halal meat and fresh ingredients. The menu includes rice platters ($6.99) and gyros ($5.99) with choice of chicken, lamb, kofta kebab, fish, or falafel. They also have Philly cheesesteak sandwiches ($5.99) and burgers ($5.99). All served with their signature white sauce, green sauce, and hot sauce.

On Yelp, Nina C from Central Islip said that the food never disappoints.

“The food was delicious,” she wrote. “And it's all for a good, cheap price.”
