Homicide Squad detectives report the details of a fatal auto accident involving a bicyclist that occurred in Massapequa.
According to detectives, while on his bicycle traveling northbound on Oakdale Avenue at the intersection of Linden Street, the 66 year old was involved in a collision with a 2011 Honda Pilot that was heading westbound on Linden Street and was being operated by a 69 year old male.
As a result of the collision the bicyclist, Lorenzo DiBenedetto, suffered multiple trauma injuries, was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced deceased by a staff physician.
The investigation into this accident continues.
