In a matter of weeks, you can get your hands on the popular Dairy Queen Blizzard and its other tasty ice cream treats right here on Long Island!
Dairy Queen is opening its first franchise restaurant on Long Island in Massapequa in early June. It’s currently also hiring people to fill open positions to its 3,000-square foot space that accommodates seating for 90 people. The location will also have a drive-thru service.
The Long Island Dairy Queen franchise location will be a DQ Grill and Chill restaurant. In addition to ice cream treats and shakes, it’ll also have an expanded menu of burger meals and other hot fast food selections.
The Long Island DQ Grill and Chill restaurant will be located at 5366 Sunrise Highway, near the Westfield Sunrise Mall. It will be located at the site of a former Burger King restaurant.
This Massapequa Dairy Queen location is owned by Massapequa local, Laura Maier, 34. Maier has dreams of opening another franchise location in Nassau by the end of 2013.
This Long Island location adds to the chain’s more than 6,000 other locations in the U.S., Canada and several other countries. Dairy Queen’s corporate offices are located in Minnesota.
