NCPD Announces Arrest Made in Connection with Hempstead Bus Stop Assault, Robbery

NCPD report the arrest of Javone Ferguson of Hempstead, 20, in connection with a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, July 1.

Hempstead, NY - August 25, 2017 - Third Squad detectives report the arrest of Javone Ferguson, 20, of Hempstead, at the Hempstead Bus Terminal, on Thursday, 08/24/17, in connection with a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 1:30 am in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, a female victim, 26, was at the Hempstead Bus Depot when she was approached by Ferguson. The victim started to walk away, but Ferguson followed. Ferguson then grabbed the victim choking her to the point that she passed out for a few seconds. When the victim awoke Ferguson punched her in the face and grabbed her handbag. When the victim started to scream Ferguson dropped the handbag and fled the scene on foot.  
 
The victim was transported by private automobile to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.  
 
Ferguson is being charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Strangulation 2nd Degree,  Forcible Touching and will be arraigned on Friday, 08/25/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
