NCPD: Two Arrests Made in Connection with Baldwin Street Robbery

Jeremy Durocher and Jackenson Smith, both 17, are accused of robbing two teen pedestrians and fleeing the scene in a vehicle, cops say.

Baldwin, NY - August 11, 2017 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of two Baldwin men for a robbery that occurred on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 9:40 pm in Baldwin.
 
According to detectives, officers from the departments CIRRT (Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team), while patrolling the Baldwin area, observed Jeremy Durocher, 17, committing a robbery on two male pedestrians, ages 17 and 16, while on Grand Avenue. Durocher then entered a waiting vehicle, driven by Jackenson Smith, 17, that then fled the scene. A car stop was initiated a short distance away and both Durocher and Smith were placed into custody.
 
During the robbery a set of keys and an unknown amount of cash was taken from the uninjured victims.
 
Both Durocher and Smith are charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 8/11/2017.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
