Officials: Man Arrested After Crashing into Vehicle and Swimming Pool in Levittown

Levittown, NY - August 7, 2017 - Second Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for leaving the scene of an accident that occurred in Levittown on Sunday, 08/06/17 at 9:15 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Andrew Zub, 40, Levittown, while operating a 2016 Dodge Ram southbound on Seamans Neck Rd./Holmes St. was in collision with a 2002 Nissan, operated by a male driver, 53, and a female passenger, 74. The defendant’s pick-up truck was thrust off the roadway and collided into rear fences on Ferris Rd., knocking down an above ground swimming pool. The defendant fled the scene of the accident on foot.
 
Wantagh Fire Department and Levittown Fire Department ambulances transported the driver and passenger of the Nissan to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
 
Subsequent investigation by Second Squad detectives led to the arrest of the defendant at his residence several hours later.
 
Zub is being charged with two counts of Leave Scene of Incident/Property Damage, two counts of Leave Scene of Incident/Injury/ Fail to Show License, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree and Circumvent Interlock-Subject to Court Order-Operate MV W/O Device.  He will be arraigned on Monday, 08/07/17, in First District Court, Hempstead.
