Man in Custody after Allegedly Beating 71-Year-Old Man Unconscious During Hicksville Robbery

The Major Case Bureau reports an arrest for a Robbery that occurred at 9:30pm on Monday, July 10, 2023 in Hicksville.
 
According to Robbery Squad Detectives, the male victim, 71, was walking on Jonathon Avenue when the Defendant Henry Romero, 20, of 4 Jonathon Avenue began walking toward him. The Defendant pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded his money.  
 
When the victim stated he didn’t have any money, the Defendant struck the victim multiple times in the head causing him to lose consciousness. When the victim awoke, he had an actively bleeding nose and suffered substantial pain to his face, neck, shoulders, back and right hip. 
 
The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of his injuries.  
 
Subsequent to the investigation, Detectives located Defendant Romero at his residence at 4:45pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 and placed him under arrest without incident.
 
Defendant Henry Romero is charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Attempted Robbery 1st Degree.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
