The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport prepare for their spring production of George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's comedy classic, "The Man Who Came To Dinner". Performances begin on April 26th and run through May 4th at Houghton Hall Theatre at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village. Performances will take place on Saturdays, April 26th & May 3rd at 8 P.M, Friday, May 2nd at 8 P.M. and Sundays, April 27th & May 4th at 3 P.M.

The Minstrel Players are fresh off their critically acclaimed staging of Lucille Fletcher's "Night Watch" this past fall. They kick off their 2008 season with "The Man Who Came To Dinner". This is the 3rd time The Minstrel Players have performed this play and it has become their cornerstone production - no other group can come close! The production is co-directed by Minstrel founders, Ray and Debbie Palen and features a cast of Minstrel veterans as well as newcomers: Roseann Baldanza, Jennifer Dallari Chirles, Jim Conners, Derek McLaughlin, Karen Ottomano, Tara Palen, Dan Smith and Dan Stravino are some of the actors featured in this large-cast production. The story deals with famous critic, writer and orator, Sheridan Whiteside. Mr. Whiteside finds himself trapped at the mid-west home of the Stanley's as a result of slipping on the ice on their front stoop following a dinner visit and now being confined to a wheelchair. Whiteside proceeds to take over the Stanley home and meddle in the affairs of everyone around him, including his long-time assistant, Maggie Cutler. During his stay at the Stanley's, Whiteside is visited by famous Hollywood Stars and playwrights and receives bizarre packages from all over the world. What ensues is classic, madcap 1940's-style comedy that will leave the audience begging for more!

The Minstrel Players are committed to bringing "World Class", affordable theater to the Long Island Region. Tickets are $15.00 each and $12.00 for Seniors/Children under 12.
